Gusti Leather nature

Gusti Leather nature is our first own brand. It combines sustainable management that’s in harmony with nature and humankind with a unique and sophisticated vintage design. For our Gusti Leather nature range, taking responsibility means consciously separating ourselves from mass production and advocating for fair working conditions. Gusti Leather nature means a conscious approach to materials and quality. It’s distinguished from our second brand, Gusti Leather studio, by the traditional vegetable tanning processes used to create the range.

Unique vintage designs with a clean conscience!

The journey of the bag

The chic and unique products that make up our Gusti Leather nature collection are mainly made from goatskin leather which comes from free-range goats in India. Small family businesses, max. 15 workers, then process the leather over several stages to create our great leather products. The leather is first tanned using traditional tanning processes and tannins from the bark of the Babul tree. The leather is then dyed and greased using vegetable oils, which helps us avoid using any chromium salt on the hide.

Our Mission

Our goal is to create something unique from our passion for leather and to do this under fair conditions. The livelihood of our producers and their families, as well as fighting against child labour, are of the utmost importance to us. Child labour is widespread across India and many children under the age of 15 work to support their families financially. However, our producers have a strict child labour ban. We have each of our production facilities sign a contract to ensure that they are not employing children. Our CEO, Christian Pietsch, also visits our production sites several times a year to conduct unannounced inspections.

Fairness and transparency instead of child labour
